The CLIENTLIST -- new series coming in March, 2012 to Lifetime Network

Starring -- Jennifer Love Hewitt

Premise -- a money strapped Texas mom who works as a massage therapist who “gives a little extra”

I saw an advertisement for this new series. It is based on a movie that aired on Lifetime in July, 2011. From the commercial, this is the story of a prostitute working in a “massage parlor” under the guise of a massage therapist who provides a “happy ending“ for her clients (along with all the other therapists there).

Lifetime Network should know better than to treat the profession and women like this. I believe we will all feel the negative effects from this misrepresentation of our profession. More will believe that this is an accurate presentation of massage therapists. This is not acceptable programming.

I find this outrageous. We have worked too hard to keep our profession legitimate -- Don’t let this go without a protest. Let’s all use our networks, clients and organizations to speak out and make ourselves heard. Again, this is not acceptable programming.
